APPROACHES - Art Therapy

Art therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy, facilitating self-exploration and understanding. Using imagery, colour and shape as part of this creative therapeutic process, thoughts and feelings may be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate (CATA).

Art therapy provides a safe and gentle way for individuals to explore issues that might be at first difficult to put into words. Often thoughts and feelings arrive as images before words can be used to express and communicate. Some individuals have found art therapy to be a welcome althernative to primarily talk oriented counselling.

Create from where you are, and not where you think you should be.”
